Pierre-Adrien PAYARD: “Taming Boron-to-Transition-Metal Transmetalation: Insights from Mechanistic Studies”
Résumé: Transmetalation from boron to transition metals is the key step of numerous high-interest reactions of high interest. Our recent results on detailed mechanistic aspects of the transmetalation of aryl boronic acid to nickel as well as unpublished results about transmetalation to diphosphine-ligated palladium will be presented. A combination of experiments (electrochemistry, NMR, kinetics …) and theory (DFT) has been used to study the impact of the pH of the reaction mixture as well as electronic and ligand effects.

Julien VANTOUROUT: "Development and Mechanistic Investigations of C-N Bond Forming Reactions"
Résumé: Transition metal-mediated formation of C-N bonds is an essential synthetic tool. The talk will focus on the development and mechanistic investigation of two amination reactions: the Chan-Lam reaction of arylboronic acid pinacol esters (BPin) and the electrochemical nickel-catalyzed amination of aryl halides.
